Bengaluru, Sep 12: Prajwal Revanna, who is currently behind bars in connection with a rape case involving a domestic worker, has allegedly not given up his old habits even in prison.
Fresh and explosive details have emerged in the investigation into his alleged use of a mobile phone inside jail, with police reportedly finding that a pen drive was used to watch obscene videos.
Police probing the mobile phone use case have now received the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, which contains crucial information recovered from the device. Several details have reportedly emerged from the mobile data, while the contents of a pen drive have left investigators shocked.
According to the report, a staggering 173 video files were found on Prajwal Revanna’s pen drive. Among them were three videos allegedly featuring Prajwal himself. More than 100 obscene videos were reportedly recovered from the device. The discovery has raised questions over whether Prajwal was watching videos featuring himself and allegedly deriving what the report describes as ‘perverse pleasure’ from them.
The investigation has also reportedly uncovered evidence that Prajwal made video calls with several women. It has been alleged that a prison warder was responsible for getting the mobile phone to him while he was lodged in jail.
The same mobile phone was allegedly used to make calls to several young women. According to information emerging from the investigation, Prajwal allegedly paid Rs 1 lac to obtain the mobile phone, while Rs 50,000 was reportedly paid to procure the SIM card.
At present, only some of the videos have reportedly been successfully retrieved by the FSL. Investigators are now likely to question Prajwal Revanna again based on the material recovered from the devices. Police are also expected to issue notices to the women who allegedly had video calls with him and question them as part of the investigation.
The Parappana Agrahara police are continuing their probe into the matter.
Earlier, during a Central Crime Branch (CCB) raid, a mobile phone and a pen drive were reportedly recovered. Some videos were subsequently retrieved from the mobile phone, while several other video files were reportedly found on the pen drive.
Prajwal Revanna is already facing several cases, and the latest digital evidence has reportedly given the investigation a fresh twist.
Police are likely to question more people based on the video files and call details recovered from the devices. The prison administration and others allegedly connected with the incident could also face action.
The role of the warder who allegedly facilitated the delivery of the mobile phone to Prajwal Revanna is also under investigation.
