Mumbai: Maharastra–Karnataka Children’s Cultural Meet–2011 Held

Mumbai, Oct 11: Under the joint aegis of city based Karnataka Sangh and Jnana Mandara Educational Cultural Trust ® Bangalore, Karnataka and Maharastra Kannada children’s cultural meet – 2011 was held at Dr M Vishveshvarayya auditorium, Matunga (West) here on Sunday October 9.

Maharastra MLA K Jagannat Shetty inaugurated the programme.

Karnataka Sangh president Dr G D Joshi presided over the programme.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharastra president and Karnataka Malla, Kannada daily editor Chandrashekar Palettady, central Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor released handbook on New Delhi Board Higher Secondary and Judge Dr Shivaraj V Patil authored book Words of Wisdom, Mangalore based gynecologist Dr Rati Devi authored Kannada book – Smruti Lahari and Vaidyakiya at the same occasion.

Bharatiya Shiksha Parishat Uttar Pradesh regional director Dr K S Raju, Kannada Sangh Dubai director G R Mallikarjun and others were the guests of honour.

The uniforms were distributed to the needy students during the programme.

Kannadiga children staged a variety of cultural shows as part of entertainment programme.

Karnataka Sangh honorary chief secretary Bharat Kumar Polipu welcomed the gathering.  Omdas Kannangar proposed vote of thanks.  K Srinivas compeered the programme.
