Auckland, Oct 11: On his 69th birthday, Amitabh Bachchan must have received thousands of wishes as well as a number of gifts from his fans across the globe.
However, Amitabh spent his big day quietly. "I prayed for my family and fans worldwide," he told press persons. There was a huge crowd in front of his bungalow as usual, but he showed great patience and courtesy, waving and talk to them. His fans were truly happy to get a glimpse of their much-loved superstar.
Many brought flowers, some bought gifts and greeting cards. He was flooded with wishes on his social networking pages.
A diehard fan of Big B who has been residing in New Zealand for a decade or so, wrote a beautiful poem as a loving tribute to living legend of Bollywood.
Anita Britto from Auckland, an amateur poetess, paid a tribute with these rich words:
Happy Birthday, Mr Bachchan from all your die-hard fans
Who've followed you since 69 to glittering days in Cannes
You're the legend of a life time - You've perfected every act
No matter what the genre, You've never ever lacked.
