Mangaluru: St Ann’s College of Education celebrates Graduation Day

Mangaluru, Apr 30: The College Graduation Day – recognises the outstanding efforts of the MEd and BEd teacher trainees as they fly out of the portals of this institution as full-fledged teachers.

The ceremony commenced with the solemn procession of graduating students and the stage programme began with an invocation. Second year BEd students cordially welcomed the gathering through a welcome dance. Dr Sr Dorothy D’Souza AC principal, welcomed the chief guest Dr Alwyn Vincent D’Sa, registrar (evaluation) and associate professor in English, St Aloysius (Deemed to be) University Mangaluru. Sr Maria Smitha AC, joint secretary, St Ann’s Institutions and Superior, St Ann’s Convent, Mangaluru, president of the programme, Dr Flosy D’Souza controller of examinations, Sr Zeena Pereira A C, vice-principal and the convener Dr Rose Pinto.

The chief guest Dr Alwyn Vincent D’Sa, lauded the contributions of the college in creating women leaders of the family and they have taken the mantle of leadership and advised the future teachers to follow the ‘Panchasutras’ required to be a great educator. The toppers were awarded with a gold medal and meritorious students received founded prizes from the chief guest. Shobitha, MEd student and Vinitha Nishma Veigas BEd were the recipient of the gold medal.

Pratheeksha Kille second BEd compered the event and Dr Rose Kiran Pinto, assistant professor and convener of the programme proposed the vote of thanks. The graduation ceremony was witnessed by an audience of forty-seven graduates BEd and MEd, parents, teaching and non-teaching faculty, heads of campus institutions, alumnae and students.
