Dev Anand Conferred Rashtriya Kishore Kumar Samman

Bhopal, Oct 14 (IANS): The Madhya Pradesh government Thursday honoured veteran actor Dev Anand with the 14th Rastriya Kishore Kumar Samman on the occasion of the 25th death anniversary of the late singer-actor, a minister said.

An amount of Rs.2 lakh, an honour plaque and a shawl were given to the octogenerian actor for excellence in direction at his residence in Mumbai.

The evergreen hero, apart from a stellar career on screen, has produced some very memorable films, including "Johnny Mera Naam", "Guide", "Jewal Thief" and "Hare Rama Hare Krishna".

The 88-year-old has also been honoured with Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

A grand function was also held at Khandwa, Kishore Kumar's birthplace, in the singer's memory.
