New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS): The attacker who bashed up lawyer Prashant Bhushan had written a letter to him hours before the assault, asking him to change his stand on Kashmir.Bhushan was Wednesday roughed up by Inder Verma, Delhi president of Sri Ram Sene, along with Vishnu Gupta and Tejender Pal Singh Bagga of the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena.
"Your anti-India views on Kashmir have upset us and we urge you to change your stand... Maybe you have been misled by somebody but being a prominent lawyer and son of a former law minister, it is hard to digest," Verma wrote in the letter, a copy of which released here Friday.
"We would request you to clarify your views on this issue," he added.
Bhushan, a key member of Team Anna, had advocated for a referendum in Kashmir in a statement he gave in Varanasi two weeks ago.
Verma further said his group had supported Hazare's anti-graft movement wholeheartedly and that Bhushan's remarks had left them disappointed.
"We had given you a letter pledging our support to your movement and had carried out rallies all over the country to support you... Your stand on Kahsmir has hurt us."
