Beltangady, May 28: Police have submitted a chargesheet to the court regarding two cases against MLA Harish Poonja. The cases involve his alleged threat to police personnel alleging "targeting of BJP workers" involved in illegal mining and leading a violent protest against cops. The chargesheet was submitted on May 28 for a swift hearing.

Puttur Police Inspector Sathish G J, assigned by the SP to investigate the case, submitted the chargesheet to the court in Bengaluru.

BJP Yuva Morcha leaders Shashiraj Shetty and Pramod Ujire were arrested under the Illegal Mining and Explosives Act. MLA Harish Poonja allegedly disrupted police duties and insulted officers during a protest at the police station condemning these arrests. Two cases were registered against Poonja concerning this incident.
