GIDC plans comprehensive fire safety audit across Goa industrial estates

Daijiworld Media Network - Ponda

Ponda, Nov 4: The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has initiated the process of issuing a tender to conduct a comprehensive fire safety audit across all industrial estates in the state, GIDC chairperson Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco said on Tuesday.

He said the corporation was taking proactive measures to strengthen fire safety systems and improve emergency preparedness in industrial areas.

"All regional managers have been instructed to regularly inspect and monitor the functionality of fire hydrant systems within the industrial estates under their jurisdiction," Lourenco said.

The GIDC has also proposed conducting fire safety mock drills at the earliest to improve emergency response capabilities and minimise the risk of fire-related incidents.

"The safety of industrial zones, workers, and infrastructure is our top priority," Lourenco said.
