Namaz on street: Threat from Sharan Pumpwell Mangalore FB account, case registered

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, May 30: A Facebook post from the account "Sharan Pumpwell Mangalore" has come under scrutiny. The post claimed that people were deliberately performing Namaz near Kankanady to inconvenience others, warning that the Bajrang Dal would take direct action if Namaz was performed at the same location again on Friday.

The case was registered based on the observation that the post was intended to incite hatred and create fear by taking the law into one's own hands. As the post could potentially disrupt communal harmony, a case was filed, according to the details in the FIR.

The police submitted a ‘B’ report indicating that there was no intent to disrupt traffic by the Namaz. The Kadri police inspector who registered the Suo Moto case without informing senior officers has been placed on compulsory leave. An ACP-grade official has been assigned to investigate the matter.

Police have not registered sue-moto case for performing namaz. Police have registered the case for obstructing traffic rules and for utilizing public place for religious purposes without permission.

Performing namaz on the road on being Friday is fine provided space us left for vehicles. Also in front of temples also must leave space fir vehicles. Are we living in a secular independant country!? If not let's start living in harmony. Yes, we crustians also do processions on parish fest but only in outskirts of Mangalore. City we don't do it so there is no issues.

There is a road at Matadakani, Boloor, Mangalore, a temple is located at the side of the road. Whenever the poojas are performed a portion of the road is entirely blocked because the chairs are spread on the road itself and the people are sitting on it. No vehicle can move on that day. The corporation, nor the police are not questioning the violation of the rules. No sue-moto cases filed,

This problem can be solved easily , Administration and Police department must give permission to all religious activists on the road by permission only and certain time should be allowed, not more than that Christian, Hindus, Muslims or Any religious function pre permission must required. They must not block the roads and disturb the vehicles and pedestrians.

First do the mistake by performing namaaz on road by disrupting vehicular traffic and latter try to blame on others who protest it. If government not comply request of people things turn voltaile as happened in mumbai 1993 where in Maha Arati arranged in each and every nook corner of the city. Now no such namaaz ever held or appear in the minds by mistake also.
