Kundapur, Jun 5: Dr Robert Rebello who was working as an administrative medical officer in the government hospital here was suspended from duty on Tuesday June 4.
Commissioner of health department D Randeep issued an order, pending a departmental inquiry into the complaint filed by the public to the health minister against the doctor for misbehaviour with patients, a case of sexual harassment by a fellow doctor, a letter from the police inspector in this regard, sewage and waste flowing in the hospital premises and neglect in work.
ENT doctor from Mudigere government hospital has been designated in Dr Rebello’s place. Currently, Dr Rebello is absconding. Sources said that he is attempting to obtain an anticipatory bail.
