Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi

Udupi, Jun 8: An edible oil tanker overturned in Santhekatte after the driver lost control while navigating an under-construction underpass area.

The incident, came to light on Saturday, June 8 morning.

The mishap is suspected to have taken place after the tanker driver mistakenly drove onto a closed service road leading from Udupi to Kundapur.

The road conditions, worsened by sludge, caused the vehicle to lose control, ultimately toppling over into the under-construction underpass site.

Sheer negligence of administration and nothing else. Why wasn't the service road blocked if it was closed.. I hope no one got hurt. God save people transiting through this road.

This types of accidents can be controlled only , if anything happened, the truck driver should be responsible, and he has to bear and pay the compensations to the goods owner and not insurance company. That time only the drivers will run the vehicles slowly and take care.

Im guessing you have never been to santhekatte in its current present state. Easy to blame the driver when you r neither a witness nor having knowledge of the current situation of the area

Yes it confuses drivers coming from Upper bridge. There is no proper baricade or proper boards. Vehicles coming from robosoft to santekatte also very narrow. You go to any corner of world, the contractor first make temporary roads with proper baricade , reflector and warning boards. But in India, contractor first pay commision to politicians and then they don't follow rules.

Are you a truck driver here? Because you seem to have some misunderstanding how much they even earn.

This underpass will soon gain notoriety as the monsoon advances, thanks to the sloppy work by extrasmart road and tunnel 👷‍♂️ builders; but the person responsible for this project has supposedly gotten elected from some other constituency!

Bro Vincent; in a third world place where blood is cheaper than water, you are thinking of spilt edible oil, great going bro; do you know if somebody meets with an accident, the rescuers, if not under public eye, first try to empty the pockets and precious metals from the victim's body before shifting the body to the government hospital or morgue😞😞🙏
