Udupi, June 11: Co-curricular committee and hobby project club of SMVITM in association with ISTE student chapter of SMVITM and institute innovation council organised the “Technical Project Ideation” a mini project competition/exhibition in the institute premises on June 8.

The competition was inaugurated by Bhargavram Udupa T, an alumnus and a software engineer at Apica Bengaluru. He motivated the students by emphasizing the significance of undertaking projects that can enhance their resumes. Recalling his own involvement in organising and participating in project development competitions during his time with ISTE in college, he urged the students to pursue similar endeavours.

Prof Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of the college emphasised that knowledge is something no one can take away from us. He stressed the importance of engaging in projects to acquire knowledge.

A total of 66 projects from first, second, and third-year students were showcased. The students exhibited their live models, presentations, and banners with great enthusiasm. HOD’s, faculty and students also visited the project exhibition and interacted with the students. A total of 6 best projects were awarded with cash prizes.

Dr Sudarshan Rao K, dean QA, Dr Nagaraj Bhat, dean academics, Dr Udaya Prasanna H, event judge, Dr Renita Sharon Monis, co-curricular coordinator, Shashikala, ISTE coordinator participated in the inaugural programme. Dhanya Shetty, a third-year AI-ML student, served as the master of ceremony.
