Four-day yellow alert declared in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi till Jun 16

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 13: The monsoon has intensified in coastal districts. On Wednesday, intermittent heavy rains showered throughout the day.

In the Dakshina Kannada district, Vittal, Peruvayi, Kanyana, Mudipu, Kotekar, Beeri, Beltangady, Dharmasthala, Ujire, Bantwal, Madyantharu, Puttur, Uppinangady, Ilanthila, Karaya, Perne, Sullia, Subramanya, Bellare, Moodbidri, and Ullal received substantial amounts of rain.

In Udupi, damage and destruction were reported in several parts due to the incessant rain that lashed the area on Wednesday. Kundapur and Brahmavar received heavy rains, while Udupi city, Malpe, and Manipal experienced moderate intermittent rains.

The houses of Vanaja Shettigar, a resident of Erlapady, Nagaratna of Koni village, Jahorobi of Yadthare, Puttamma of Kalthodu, Rukku Ganiga of Ulthoor, Bacchi of Navunda, and Satish Jathan of Ambalpady were damaged.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been declared from June 13 to 16, with the possibility of significant rains accompanied by high-velocity winds.

    Fall on bed with Kuwait Gloria. I think Cynthia is right in her comment. Rain is measured in either millimeters or inches. The specific unit of measurement used depends on the county. While rainfall is measured in inches in the United States, most countries in the world adopt the metric system and use millimeters or centimeters.

    How many centi meters or mili litres rain we received so far in twin districts? Daiji any update from the reliable sources ? If so, please inform us. I just want our readers to know whether the rain is deficit or moderate or surplus?
