Kasargod, June 17: In a devastating incident, twin boys drowned in a stone quarry at Chimeni Kaniyala on Monday, June 17, in the evening. The victims, identified as Sudev (10) and Sridev (10), were students of Class five at the Government Higher Secondary School.
The incident unfolded around six o'clock in the evening when the family discovered that the boys had not returned home after going out to play on their bicycles earlier in the afternoon. Their bicycles were found near the quarry, prompting a frantic search by family members and local residents.
Tragically, the search revealed that both children had fallen into the quarry. They were promptly retrieved and rushed to the nearest hospital, but despite efforts to save them, both succumbed to the accident.
The bodies have been transferred to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital mortuary.
This incident has left the community deeply saddened by the loss of young lives in such a heartbreaking manner.
