Nowadays, beautiful religious texts have been hijacked by certain political parties. Religion is a personal matter and should be kept out of schools and colleges. This should apply to all religions, including Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam.

After the ticket was denied to Mr. Shetty for the recent elections, it appears that he has started to preaching Bhagavat Gita. If the values mentioned in this great book, were read and practiced by him, his constituency would have been a different one today. It is very easy to preach from the podium. The real leader is the one who practices it which is very difficult in modern times.

By aping the western world, we have lost much of our culture and with it our discipline, food habits, dress sense and our true way of living. Our unity in diversity is great but one too many diversities lead to disastrous consequences. Bhagwad Gita teaches one how to live an ideal life.
