Mangaluru, Jun 26: With the onset of the heavy monsoon season, there is a tendency for an increase in potholes, flooding, and road damage. Bejai New Road is one such place that has witnessed a surge in submerged potholes due to previous incomplete excavation, causing inconvenience to locals.
It has been close to four to five months since the excavation of roads at Bejai New Road. Potholes have accumulated water over time, making it difficult for pedestrians in this area. This increases the risk of skidding, turning it into an accident-prone zone.
A local auto driver, noting the pathetic condition of the road, put up a sarcastic poster titled ‘Kesardonji Dina’ to highlight the worsening situation.
The lack of action by the concerned authorities to resolve the issue has led to a further decline in the already deteriorating road conditions. Urgent repairs are crucial to prevent potential future fatalities.
Apart from Bejai New Road, there are many other places like Nagori and Kodialbail where incomplete works have caused inconvenience to pedestrians and tested the patience of locals.
