Mangaluru, Jul 1: The valedictory ceremony of the yoga camp organized by the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Association, along with the aid distribution program for blind musicians, was held on Saturday at Patrika Bhavan in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, international yoga instructor Devika Purushottam, who conducted the yoga training, said, “The field of journalism is filled with nonstop activities, and it is well known how stressful and challenging it is to report daily events and submit them to newspapers within tight deadlines. Due to the relentless work and mental pressure, even family members are deprived of peace and tranquility. I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to teach yoga, which helps increase meditative thinking and promotes a healthy lifestyle, allowing journalists to live happily with their families. Such yoga practices should be incorporated into daily life. Yoga, pranayama, and meditation are excellent remedies for relieving mental stress,” she said.
During the event, aid was distributed to blind musicians. Present at the program were lokayukta SP Nataraj, IMA secretary Dr Avin Alva, Press Club president Harish Rai, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Association president Srinivas Nayak Indaje, and general secretary Jitendra Kundeshwar.
