Tourism activities suspended in Udupi due to monsoon risks

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Jul 2: Due to the potential for property damage and loss of life caused by natural disasters at various tourist locations in the district, the tourism department had previously instructed to cease activities at beaches, rivers, backwaters, boating, and other water adventure sports. However, it has come to the department's attention that some private participants are continuing their water adventure activities as permitted by the department.

Therefore, the Assistant Director of the Tourism Department has issued a statement mandating the suspension of all water adventure activities, including boating, kayaking, surfing, and one-day island tourism activities related to the department until the end of the monsoon season.
