Kasargod, Jul 9: A BSc student has gained significant attention by coaching IAS and IPS aspirants on YouTube.

Sayuj Chandran, the son of retired soldier P Chandran and social worker Swati Chandran, is the student behind this remarkable achievement. His success came to light when he purchased a car worth Rs 10 lac.

Sayuj is studying BSc in Microbiology at Rajapuram ST Piyush College. He achieved this success through continuous reading, internet surfing, following YouTube channels, and listening to inspiring speeches by renowned personalities. He utilized his bus travel time and spare time at home and college for this purpose.

Sayuj completed his PU in 2022 with the ambition of becoming a doctor. However, he did not score as expected in NEET, so he joined ST Piyush College in Rajapuram.

While studying for his BSc, Sayuj aspired to write the IAS examination. He subscribed to the e-paper editions of two English newspapers and listened to speeches by influential personalities to improve his English. Additionally, he followed a YouTube channel for general studies.

Sayuj later created his own YouTube channel, IAS Academy, which attracted many viewers. He eventually renamed the channel IAS Hub Malayalam and uploaded English notes he had prepared. He also started a Telegram group for IAS aspirants, which quickly gained hundreds of followers. Sayuj made the group private and charged Rs 500 monthly subscription fee. He provided free YouTube links to financially disadvantaged and specially-abled people. Within a short time, he earned Rs 10 lac and bought a car. Currently, there are 95 students in his live classes.

Sayuj has prepared to take the UPSC examinations in 2025, coinciding with his BSc graduation. He has stated that he will offer free coaching if he clears the UPSC.

Dr Asha Chaco, a Chemistry lecturer at Sayuj’s college, commented, “We have aspirants for IAS and IPS, but no one with the ability to coach others like Sayuj. There are IT experts, private, and government employees among his followers on YouTube.”
