Former minister Ramanath Rai injured as car collides with bus on Karkala–Moodbidri Highway

Karkala, Sept 20: A serious road accident was reported on the Karkala–Moodbidri highway, leaving former minister and senior Congress leader Ramanath Rai, Savitha and several others injured.

The accident occurred at Sanuru Junction, where a bus travelling from Karkala towards Moodbidri collided with the car in which former minister Ramanath Rai was travelling.

Local residents reportedly rushed to the spot and rescued Ramanath Rai from the car before taking him to a hospital. Several passengers travelling in both the bus and the car also sustained injuries.

Local residents assisted in rescuing the injured and transporting them to hospital for treatment.

    Looks very bad.Hope the injured ones recovers fast without major injuries.Cars backside is looking like a big Garbage place.May God give them courage to bear their wounds and pain.Who hit whom?Serious injuries?

    A thorough investigation has to be conducted in this incident. Something is fishy here the way the accident has taken place and the vehicle damaged so badly. Looks like both ends of the car are damaged.

    The front of the car is completely damaged, which makes it appear to have been a serious accident. I pray for the speedy recovery of the former MLA Ramanath Rai and everyone else who was injured in the accident. May God bless them with strength and good health and grant them a quick recovery.
