Kundapur, Jul 10: An attempt to murder Kundapur businessman and owner of Sahana Group of Companies, Surendra Shetty, came to light recently after attackers ambushed his car with deadly weapons.

The accused, Satish Shetty (53), owner of SSS Travels, has been arrested, while his son Sannidhi Shetty (24) is on the run.

Surendra Shetty’s wife, Sahana Surendra Shetty, was addressing issues related to rainwater at their plot, AS Traders, in Kundapur city. During this time, the accused, Satish Shetty, who was on the first floor, expressed his objection and allegedly called Surendra Shetty, abusing him. On the morning of July 7, in front of the KSRTC depot on the service road in Kundapur, the accused blocked Surendra Shetty’s car with an Innova and attempted to attack him with an iron rod, damaging the car's windows and doors. They also threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police.

Surendra Shetty filed a complaint with the Kundapur police, who arrested Satish Shetty and presented him in court. The court has remanded Satish Shetty to judicial custody. The police are searching for his son, Sannidhi Shetty. It has been revealed that Satish Shetty has previous complaints against him, including fraud and other cases.
