Mangaluru, Jul 11: The speaker of the Assembly, U T Khader, displayed humanity by providing financial assistance to transport the body of a woman originally from Karwar back to her hometown after she passed away due to illness.

Vidya Vikram Ambig (33) was the daughter of Govinda T Sali from Baval village in Karwar who was employed as a cleaner with KSRP. She passed away at a private hospital in Deralakatte after a prolonged battle with jaundice. Unable to afford the hospital treatment, the family found themselves in a desperate situation.

Nazar Shah Pattori, former president and current member of the Konaje gram panchayat, informed the speaker about the family's plight. Promptly responding, U T Khader covered the hospital expenses. He also arranged for the free transportation of the deceased's body to Karwar using the Nammooru Dhwani ambulance service.

Govinda T Sali, once employed in the KSRP battalion, had been unable to work for the past five years due to his own health issues. He lived with his four daughters in a small rented house in Nadupadavu, Konaje. Despite two of his daughters being married, they continued to live with him. The eldest daughter succumbed to jaundice and the family struggled to transport her body back to their hometown. The deceased woman left behind two young children, and her husband, who works as a laborer, lives with them in a single-room rented house.

There are many politicians who distribute freebies from from government budget ( tax payers money) and try to show that the gift is from themselves. And there few like U T K who help others from their personal budget and don't showoff. God bless people like him.
