Kundapur, Jul 16: A domestic dispute between a husband and wife in Kandlauru village, Kundapur taluk, culminated in tragedy when the husband took his own life. The deceased has been identified as Harish Bovi (40), a resident of the Anganwadi area in Kalavara village.

Harish, a professional photographer, had reportedly been facing serious personal issues recently. He often had arguments with his wife. On Tuesday morning, an altercation escalated to the point where Harish allegedly attempted to push his wife into a well. Distressed, his wife filed a complaint at the Kandlauru police station.

The police summoned the couple to the station for mediation and, after resolving the issue, sent them back in an auto-rickshaw. However, near the Kandlauru bridge, Harish asked the driver to slow down, and then he jumped into the Varahi river from the bridge.

Upon receiving the information, local residents, police, firefighters, and divers launched a search operation for Harish. Unfortunately, heavy rain and the swelling river hindered their efforts, and Harish could not be found. He leaves behind two daughters, the elder one in third grade and the younger one attending Anganwadi.

A missing persons case has been registered at the Kandlauru police station, and the search operation is ongoing.

Horrible, sad ,tragic. Here noone is the winner but only loosers. When a family father with small kids at home jump in water to end life ,then it is really tragic, and without responsibility feeling.Such people shouldnt marry or shouldnt ground family.when ,then take responsibility.whatever comes shoulder it.Not runaway.Problems have everyone.Poor kids now are without father direction and a fest hand.In every house couples mostly have some misunderstanding.that doesnt mean to runaway and suicide ,instead take deep breath and see if you self are not a cause ?and make peace. Not longer it.Heartfelt sympathy to children and wife .May his soul rest in peace if not alive .Or gone other side swimming?

Wondering what was the counselling that cops provided. More cases under which he is culpable and spending rest of his life enriching the lawyers? Most importantly, are cops professionally capable of providing counseling in family related matters? Kids are the ultimate losers whether the wife's life would have ended in well or husband meeting the watery grave in overflowing Varahi river.

The so called "saviours" of hindutva are very very busy spreading communal hatred, lies, etc (nakli version of hindutva). Real hindutva teaches communal harmony, peace & respects each & every religion unlike the nakli hindutva of BJP.

As if, no one in other religion commit suicide or quarrel in the married life! Why to drag religion in this matter! Every married couple or family has problems of their own, blaming Religion or political parties shows our mean mentality! Be a good human being first, whatever religion or whatever political party you belong to!

No matter what the reason, ending one’s life like this is not right. What will it achieve? Only sorrow.

Probably you are not aware of woman favored laws in India. If he earns Rs. 50000/- per month, court will ask him to give Rs. 30000/- to wife and children who will stay separately. And he has to live with Rs. 20000/- per month for himself. Meantime, he has to pay Rs. 15000/- for tax. And what he can do with paltry Rs. 5000/-? His decision though disastrous, somewhat justified.
