No confusion over Bill mandating Jobs for Kannadigas in private sector: M B Patil

Bengaluru, Jul 17: Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil on Wednesday asserted that there was no confusion regarding the bill approved by the State Cabinet mandating reservation for jobs in the private sector in Karnataka.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Wednesday, he said the Karnataka State Employment of Local Candidates in the Industries, Factories and other Establishments Bill which has been cleared by the State Cabinet will be introduced in the State Legislature.

The minister promised to discuss the proposed bill with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge and Labour Minister Santosh Lad and sort out all the doubts before tabling the Bill in the State Legislature.

Karnataka and the Congress government is committed to ensuring jobs for Kannadigas in the private sector too in the State, he said explaining that the State Government is extending subsidies and other facilities to the private sector.

The tremendous opportunities in the industrial and manufacturing sector in the State must help the local people, he said.

At the same time, he said the government is ready to discuss with the private sector to sort out their doubts and ensure that their interests are protected, Patil said.

The minister explained that the unskilled locals will be given proper training to make them ready for employment in the private sector.
