Mangaluru: Attempted murder case involving software company drivers - 4 arrested

Mangaluru, Jul 18: The Kavoor police have arrested four individuals in connection with an attempted murder case that stemmed from an altercation between drivers working for a software company.

The arrested individuals are Bhavit Shetty (26), and Thejas Shetty (30), sons of Nagaraj, both residents of Shaktinagara; Preetam (40), son of Pradeep Kumar, resident of Ashoknagara, Urwa and Deekshit (25), son of Ramanath, resident of PWD Quarters, Bondel.

The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, July 17. An altercation between Sandeep, a driver, and Thejas Shetty, who also works as a driver for the same company, escalated into violence. Thejas Shetty, along with his brother Bhavit Shetty and two associates, Preetam and Deekshit, confronted Sandeep while he was on his way home. The group assaulted Sandeep with a sharp-edged weapon, causing injuries to his head and other areas.

Sandeep was admitted to a private hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, an attempt to murder case was registered at the Kavoor police station under Cr. No. 96/2024. The police, led by Kavoor PS SI, conducted a swift investigation which led to the arrest of the four accused.
