Extra train to run between Mangaluru-Bengaluru following MP Brijesh Chowta's request

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (VP)

Mangaluru, Jul 19: Responding to Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta's request, the South Western Railway has provided an additional train between Mangaluru and Bengaluru.

Due to heavy rainfall causing landslides, the primary national highways connecting Mangaluru and Bengaluru have been blocked, cutting off road connectivity. In response, Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament for Dakshina Kannada, had written to the General Manager of South Western Railway and the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Mysuru, requesting the urgent provision of additional train services between Mangaluru and Bengaluru.

Considering the high number of people who travel daily between Mangaluru and Bengaluru and the lack of alternative transportation options, Captain Brijesh Chowta had emphasized the necessity of providing additional rail services. He has urged the authorities to take immediate action to implement these additional services as soon as possible.

Capt Brijesh Chowta has thanked the the South Western Railway in a tweet over the development.

Special train details

On July 21 and 22, a special train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 12:30 am, reaching Mangaluru Junction at 11:40 am. For the return journey, the train will leave Mangaluru Junction at 1:40 pm and arrive at Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, at 11:15 pm.

Good Job, Captain. Appreciate the action you took. It would be great if you would also take some prompt action in making this city a smart one and taking strict action against those who indulge in corruption regardless of their political affiliation.

Good initiative but claim credit once the service is efficiently operational. Also see that here are more flights and supply chain of goods flow is not disrupted. Make arrangements with Mumbai and Cochin for supply chain alternatives. And finally see that these things do not recir in coming years

Good step to have extra train between Mangaluru and Bengaluru. Meanwhile, request Brijesh Chowta to get Shiradi Ghat tunnel implemented within 2 years. We are hearing tunnel is approved might be from last 10 or 15 years, but nothing is happening on the ground.

Extra train during monsoon does not make sense! While extra train service from Bengaluru to Mangaluru is welcome, it should be a regular feature and not seasonal! Further, the travel time must be reduced to encourage more people to use trains for travel as it would decongest road traffic and reduce fuel consumption, which benefits everybody and even the country. Also, it is necessary that the toilets in the trains are kept in usable condition - running water, functioning faucets and regular maintenance!

Why Brjjesh Chouta has contested elections from Brhasta Jumla Paapies?! He could have sold Pakoda/Pakora and Chai in the Railway Station or like the street vendors of Mangalore are selling vegetables. Why the Pettha Gobernment did not doubled Railway Track from Mangalore to Sakleshpur/Haasan. Since only partisan and communities bashing work is going on. Mangalore to Bangalore National Highway is worsened and how many times Shirady Ghat was repaired. I am astonished to here from Gadkari and Chaiwala about our INTERNATIONAL TYPE OF ROADS FROM THE CENTRAL. NOW IT IS JUST A S**T ON THE ROADS.

Mangalore's esteemed people have elected him, and now he serves as the representative of our district in Parliament. Recently elected, he now has the opportunity to prove himself over the next five years. When commenting about our MP, it's important to use respectful language. Suggest to your esteemed leader contest in the upcoming MP elections in Mangalore, front of Captain Chowta.

This is an emergency period climatically... people must postpone non essential travel for at least a month... This will allow needy people to travel easier and save people from unforeseen risks... Additional trains will be a welcome decision...
