Mangaluru, Jul 20: Several passengers, including a family from Mangaluru, are facing distress after their luggage went missing on a Vistara flight from Dammam to Mumbai, with subsequent connections to Mangaluru.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, July 18 aboard Vistara UK 238, has left them without crucial belongings valued at Rs 2 lac.
Recounting the ordeal, Mangalurean Badruddin stated, "My family came from Dammam to Mangaluru for a short vacation to attend a wedding. Despite assurances, our six bags were reduced to three upon arrival at Mumbai Airport. Officials initially promised the remaining bags within 24 hours in Mangaluru, but it has been over six days with no response to our calls."

He continued, "We were told different stories—from home delivery to airport collection. Nothing has materialised. Elderly and sick passengers were affected. We had to repurchase everything for the wedding. This should not happen again."
Expressing frustration, Badruddin added, "Nearly 300 passengers lost their luggage due to Air Vistara's negligence. We demand compensation for all affected passengers."
Air Vistara is yet to respond or comment on the situation.
