Udupi, Jul 22: A fire incident occurred on Market Road at Shivam Electronics and Communications Center in Karkala, where a swift response by the Karkala Fire Brigade prevented a major disaster.
The incident took place on Monday morning when the switchboard caught fire.
The fire was discovered as the shop door was being opened, with the smell of burning and smoke filling the area.
Fire officer Albert Monisa, deputy fire officer K Chandrashekar, lead fire fighter Hariprasad Shettigar, and team members Ganesh Acharya, Basavaraju Nirvani, and driver Sanjay participated in the operation to extinguish the fire.
