Mangaluru: Income-Tax department hosts blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Jul 23: On the occasion of Income-Tax Day, the income-tax department, Attavar, organized a blood donation camp in association with the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru, on Tuesday, July 23, at the income-tax office here.

Rangarajan, commissioner of income-tax, Mangaluru, said, "On the occasion of Income-Tax Day on July 24, we have organized a blood donation camp in association with the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru, where our staff and officers are donating blood for the benefit of society. This is our second year, and our employees and senior officials have appreciated our cause. Given the surge in dengue cases, we are donating blood. We thank the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru, and the income-tax sports and recreational club members for organizing today's event."

Additional commissioner of income-tax, Shankar Ganeshan, added, "Today, we have arranged a blood donation camp for the second time, and our officials have donated blood during high dengue cases. We thank the Red Cross Society and the income-tax recreational club for arranging this event. I urge officials to donate their blood to save lives."

CA Shantaram Shetty, chairman of the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I extend my gratitude to the entire team of the income-tax department for donating blood for the second year. Blood is essential to fight dengue, and we need blood every hour. I thank the income-tax department for spreading the message of donating blood in all governmental departments."

Sundari Nayak, ITO, further added, "Today, the income-tax department, along with the income-tax recreation club, has arranged this blood donation camp. We are taking this initiative for its cause, and our staff and officers are trying our best to help the needy patients."
