Mangaluru: Sur Sobhan - 60 hours Konkani vocal training at Kalaangann

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Mandd Sobhann is organizing a 60-hour Konkani vocal training programme called 'Sur Sobhan' (Beauty of Voice) for children in classes 5-10 who are interested in singing. The programme will be led by the Mandd Sobhann troupe, Sumel.

Classes will be held every Sunday (except the first Sunday of the month) from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar.

The principal coach, Shilpa Tejaswini Cutinha, is a Hindustani singing graduate who has made a significant impact in the field of Konkani singing. The programme will cover topics such as vocabulary, voice control, singing techniques, and applying these skills to sing Konkani songs, all taught through electronic means. Textbooks and stationery will be provided.

Upon completing the programme and passing the final examination, participants will receive a certificate from Dr Gangubai Hangal University of Music and Performing Arts, Mysuru.
