Beloved priest of Shimoga diocese Fr Antony Peter passes away in road accident

Shivamogga, Jul 23: Fr Antony Peter, parish priest at St Theresa Little Flower of Jesus Church in Shikaripura, met with a tragic end in a road accident involving a KSRTC bus and his Hyundai Eon car on Tuesday, July 23.

Popular in the diocese of Shimoga for his humanitarian services he had also served as a priest at Harihara Basilica from June 2017 to June 2023.

The unfortunate accident took place in Shivamogga district, resulting in the sudden and unexpected death of Fr Antony Peter. He was known for his unwavering dedication to his parishioners and had earned deep respect during his tenure at Harihara Basilica for his spiritual guidance and community service.

News of Fr Antony Peter's passing has left the local community and parishioners in mourning. His impact on the lives of those he served is being remembered fondly, with many expressing shock and sadness over the loss.

 

 

Mortal remains of Fr Anthony Peter will be brought to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shimoga on Friday, July 26 at 08.00 am for public viewing. Followed by Mass at 10.00 am.

    Very painful to hear about the tragic death of beloved Fr.Antony. A kind and giovial person who dedicated and worked himself to the church.     Oh God what a ghastly accident and Priest lost his life.Seems that the door of his car is hanging with bus side?His body was thrown off in forest?He may not have his belt on?Only seeing the picture of accident looks so.May his soul rest in peace by Lord.Heartfelt sympathy to his family and all friends and devotees .
