Mangaluru, Aug 3: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized umbrella art competition on August 1 from the students of BBA and MBA Aviation Studies at their campus in Hampankatta.
The competition invited students to transform ordinary umbrellas into works of art. Participants drew inspiration from various cultural and thematic elements, creating a colourful array of designs that captivated the audience.
The highlights of the day was the umbrellas depicting the vibrant culture of Tulunadu, featuring traditional dance forms, local festivals, and iconic landmarks and also majestic Chinese dragon, symbolizing power.
From UG level, the first place was bagged by Mohammad Adil, Mohammad Ziyan, Nishan Shetty, Sathwik B Poojari, Mohammad Frahan, and Mohammad Afraz from second year BBA (aviation management). The second place was secured by Navami E K, Megha, Sushma G Shetty, Naishana Bhanu, Neha, and Shraddha K from second year BBA (aviation management) and the third place was taken by Joyson D’Souza, Mithun, Thanisha, Deesha, and Dhanya Mohammad Suhan Saheb from third year BBA (aviation management).
From PG level the first place was bagged by Rohith Manoj, Apsara L, Omeghashri, and Aishwarya from first year MBA (aviation management) and the second place was secured by Shalet, Chaithanya, Azeem, and Safvana.
The students turned the umbrella to canvas to exhibit their artistic talent and creativity to make the master piece. The students used their craft making skills to beautify the umbrella. Some of the students even upcycled the old broken umbrella. Ultimately the competition was the resounding success facilitating them with the platform to bring together the talents and creativity.
Dr Pavithra Kumari, the dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, organized the umbrella art competition. She commended the students for their talent and creativity and praised their patience in crafting and painting the umbrellas.

They used their craft-making skills to beautify the umbrellas, with some even upcycling old, broken ones. Ultimately, the competition was a resounding success, providing a platform to unite and highlight their talents and creativity.
