Sullia: Mangaluru-Bengaluru train track repair in final stages

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (MS)

Sullia, Aug 4: The repair work on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru train route at Donigal, between Edakumeri and Kadagaravalli, has reached its final stage following a landslide. Concrete work is currently underway.

A retaining wall made of rock and sandbags has been constructed below the site of the collapse and secured with an iron net. The work of strengthening the structure is nearly complete. Construction of a concrete retaining wall adjacent to the railway tracks at the landslide site has just begun.

Once the work is completed, a safety inspection will be conducted. If the repair work is approved, a trial run of engines will take place. Trains are currently halted until August 6. The landslide occurred on July 26, and since then, laborers and gangmen have been working day and night at the site.
