Peacock rescued after dog attack in Udupi

Udupi, Aug 7: A female peacock was rescued by social worker NIthyananda Volakadu in Brahmagiri, Udupi, on Monday after sustaining injuries from a stray dog attack.

The injured bird was unable to fly and was found struggling in the mud. Local residents alerted Volakadu, who promptly intervened and took the peacock into his care.

The rescued peacock was subsequently handed over to the forest department for necessary medical treatment.

Forest officials, including range forest officer Gururaj Kavradi, forest guard Keshav Poojary, and Pradeep Ajjarkad, were present during the rescue operation.

    Poor thing.Thank God someone helped the Bird.Just like stray dogs Peacocks are too now a menace .Unfortunately one cant kill the bird or harm when it destroy the harvest.
