Mangaluru, Aug 10: Bunder police have arrested a man for allegedly producing and selling counterfeit Goodnight Gold Class liquid mosquito repellent.
The accused, Dalram (33), a resident of Gujarat currently living in Mangaluru and operating a shop, was apprehended for selling the fake product at his store, Jai Vihat Enterprises, on Bibi Alabi Road in Bunder.
Representatives of the genuine Goodnight brand visited Dalram’s shop undercover and discovered the counterfeit goods. Kartik, a representative from the Bengaluru-based company that manufactures the authentic Goodnight liquid, then filed a complaint with Bunder police.
The exact location where Dalram manufactured the counterfeit mosquito killer is still unclear, but the seized products were found to have been produced between August 1 and August 5.
The operation was conducted by ACP Pratap Singh Thorat, North Police Station Inspector Amjad Ali, Bunder Police Station SI Manjula, and their teams.
