Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates 78th Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Aloysius Gonzaga School marked the 78th Independence Day on August 15, with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.

Lt Colonel Vivek Bindra, Indian Army, District Works Officer Head Quarters, Indian Coast Guard Mangaluru, was the chief guest for the celebration.

Addressing the students, he emphasized the importance of being good citizens and pursuing education to cultivate the minds. He remembered the sacrifices of soldiers and freedom fighters, urging students to respect their legacy.

The principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ advised students to draw inspiration from the leaders while striving towards a developing nation under the 2047 vision ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The celebration started with flag hoisting by the chief guest Lt Colonel Vivek Bindra, principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, Simi Bindra, vice-principals Laurel D'Souza and Aparna Suresh, followed by the National Anthem.

A cultural programme was held in honour of the freedom fighters and historical moments of struggle for freedom.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and sweets were distributed to all the students.
