Mangaluru, Jul 7: As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), several activities are being conducted to promote rural cleanliness, hygiene, solid and liquid waste management, and sustain open defecation-free status across villages.
To assess the progress and sustainability of these efforts and encourage active community participation, the ministry of drinking water and sanitation, government of India, has launched the Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2025 initiative.

For the current survey under Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2025, the Academy of Management Studies, Lakshmi Institute, has been appointed to carry out fieldwork from June 22 to July 15. Representatives from the institution will visit designated villages identified by the central government to carry out the survey work.
All gram panchayats in Dakshina Kannada (DK) are expected to ensure the continued functioning and sustainability of the various components established under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen). Additionally, information, education and communication (IEC) programmes and training sessions must be conducted for both panchayat members and the general public.
To participate in the survey, the public is encouraged to download the SSG 2025 app from the Google Play Store. This participation is essential for evaluating, monitoring, and ranking village-level sanitation efforts under the mission.
The district panchayat chief executive officer has appealed to all residents to actively take part in the survey, stressing that public feedback is crucial for Dakshina Kannada to secure a top rank in the upcoming national ranking.
