Mangaluru: SCS Riverside International Academy celebrates Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 17: The Independence Day at SCS Riverside International Academy was marked with patriotic spirit and immense enthusiasm honoring the spirit of freedom and unity.

SGT Rtd Praveen Kamath Niddodi IAF graced the event as the chief guest of the celebration. Dr Rajneesh Sorake, president SCS group of Institutions, U K Khalid the chief administrative officer of SCS group of Institutions, Helen Lobo, principal SCS Riverside Academy, the heads various SCS Institutions, were among the other dignitaries who graced the occasion.

The auspicious occasion began with an invocation of prayer by students of grade 2. To commemorate the sovereignty of nation, the Indian tricolor was unfurled by the chief guest followed by the national anthem played by the school band. A melodious group patriotic song and a solo patriotic song rendition by SCS PU College and SCS first grade respectively was witnessed.

The chief guest in his address highlighted on the struggles led by the great leaders and also urged students to embrace the values of freedom. SGT Rtd Praveen Kamath was felicitated by the SCS group of Institutions for his service in the Indian Air force.

The day also saw a variety of cultural programme showcased by the students of SCS Riverside International Academy which included dances, patriotic songs and solo performances that captivated the audience and reflected the rich cultural heritage of the country. The entire show was aesthetically pleasing. The Independence Day celebration saw its closure with singing of the national song.
