Mangaluru, Aug 20: Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) conducted a Konkani Short Play competition at Don Bosco Hall on Sunday, August 18.
The event commenced with a prayer and the KNS anthem. Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza, parish priest of Gantalkatte church was the chief guest for the event.
Liston D’Souza, the vice president of KNS, welcomed the chief guest, judges, participants, and the attendees.
Dr Rocky D'Cunha, president of KNS delivered an encouraging message to the competitors, wishing best of luck.
The competition was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony featuring KNS vice-president Liston D'Souza, general secretary Floyd D'Mello, assistant secretary Cletus Lobo, treasurer Gerald Concessao, competition convenors Steevan Rodrigues and Diana D’Souza, president Dr Rocky D'Cunha, chief guest Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza, and the competition judges.
A total of 9 teams namely Team Bendur, Team Ashoknagar, Team St Thomas Ammembal, Althodi Polthodi Friends Modankap, Team Loretto, Team Balkunje, Uthsaahi Kalakar Gantalkatte, St Aloysius Kalakar and Team Elite Permannur took part in the competition.
The competition received valuable support from Alwyn D'Souza Bajal, KNS managing committee members and unit members of Valencia, Angelore, and Ladies unit.
Comedy King Adolphus Cutinha Dolla Mangluru, renowned actors Sapna Saldanha Vamanjoor and Maxim D’Souza Angelore served as the esteemed judges for the competition.
Sunil Menezes, former vice-president of KNS handled the computation of scores. Florine D’Souza introduced the judges, Diana D’Souza announced the results and concluded with a vote of thanks.
