Bantwal, Aug 21: Two notorious rowdies were arrested by a police team led by Punjalakatte SI Nandakumar after they assaulted workers at a bar and attempted murder. The accused, Santosh and Vishwanath, residents of Bantwal, had been on the run since the incident and were apprehended in Mangaluru on Wednesday, August 21.

The incident occurred on the night of August 4 at Prakash Bar and Restaurant in Pangala Padavu, Vamadapadavu. The two rowdies had traveled from Bantwal to Vamadapadavu, where they consumed alcohol at Prakash Bar. Afterward, they launched a brutal attack with rods on the bar staff and a cook. The cook sustained serious head injuries and was treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

In addition to the assault, the duo vandalized electronic items, including the bar's computer, and other valuable property inside the bar. The entire incident was captured on the bar's CCTV, and the footage quickly went viral.

Following the attack, the accused went into hiding. Among them, Santosh had previously been imprisoned for attempted murder and was out on bail. He had been involved in a previous incident where he had cut off a man's hand in Bantwal, leading to a rowdy sheet being filed against him at the Bantwal Town Police Station.

The police team from Punjalakatte tracked down the accused and presented them before the court on August 21.

One more reason to ban alcohol as it is the root cause of all the mess happening all over the country.... Try banning the alcohol for 1 month and see the results.... the crime rates will drastically reduce to some extent......unlike what's happening nowadays...
