Kasargod, Aug 23: D Shilpa, originally from Karnataka, has assumed office as the new district police chief of Kasargod.
The previous superintendent of police, P Bijoy, has been transferred to Thiruvananthapuram, and Shilpa has been appointed in his place. Bijoy has been assigned as the principal of the Police Training Centre in Thiruvananthapuram.
This is the second time Shilpa has been appointed as a superintendent of police. A resident of Bengaluru, Shilpa had previously served efficiently as the district superintendent of police in 2020. She was then transferred in 2021.
After four years, she has been appointed once again as the SP of Kasargod. D Shilpa was first appointed as Kasargod's first female SP in 2020.
