Udupi, Aug 24: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by a youth in Karkala, Udupi district. Speaking on the incident, Dr Arun Kumar, the superintendent of police (SP) of Udupi district, stated, "The accused and victim were known to each other for the past three months through Instagram. We have registered a case, and due procedures are being followed as per legal protocols."

Addressing the media, Dr Arun Kumar provided details of the incident, saying, "The accused, Altaf, called the victim to a certain place. When she arrived, she was abducted and given a drink laced with a substance. The victim has alleged that she was raped during this time. Altaf, along with another accused, Savera (Xavier) Richard Quadrous, who supplied the drinks and beer bottles, has been arrested. Two vehicles used by them have also been confiscated. The victim has been shifted to a private hospital in Manipal."

One more reason to ban alcohol.....as it is the root cause of all the crimes happening everywhere..... Haram relationships will always end up in big trouble or huge loss.. So beware girls when u get into haram relationships with men....initially it may seem awesome, but one day or the other such kind of relationships will always put you in trouble... cos there are wolves everywhere waiting to pounce on the opportunity.... Until and unless strict rules/law is enforced for rapists/criminals, these kinds of crimes will keep happening every now and then.... If she had not befriended those guys and drank the drink offered by them, she would not have been the victim.....

After all lot of media reporting sex predators cases in society the so called innocent woman meeting unknown men and kidnapping story doesn't seem to be true. But in India stricter law and Swift punishment as death sentence only can save women folk and taxpayers money as well.
