Mangaluru, Aug 24: The Expert Group of Educational Institutions unveiled their artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning platform, 'Expert e-Learn', on Saturday, August 24, at a ceremony held at Hotel Ocean Pearl. The app was launched by IT entrepreneur K Ullas Kamath.

The event featured guest speakers including Legislative Council member Dr Manjunath Bhandary and IT entrepreneur Rohith Bhat. During the ceremony, Ankur N Nayak, IT director of the Expert Group, introduced three new innovations: 'Expert e-Learn', the AI-based 'EZ', and the extensive study platform 'Expedition'.

The Android-based Expert e-Learn app will be available to Expert Pre-University College and Expert Coaching Classes students starting this academic year, and will be accessible to the public from the next academic year. Both students and teachers will benefit from this app.

The Expert e-Learn app features video lessons of approximately 10 minutes each, during which AI poses questions. The video continues only if the student answers correctly; otherwise, it restarts for review. This approach mimics the interactive nature of classroom teaching.

The 'EZ' feature, powered by AI, provides precise answers and explanations when students type in their queries. It offers information based on NCERT and Expert Publishing House textbooks and delivers more accurate responses than other search engines. This feature helps students gain a deeper understanding of the subject and supports effective revision.

The 'Expedition' feature aims to sustain the curiosity and engagement of younger students by presenting lessons in diverse and interactive formats. It covers subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Statistics, English, Kannada, Sanskrit, and Hindi. While it is available in book form, it will also be accessible digitally via the Expert e-Learn app.

The app is designed to enhance interest in subjects and provide solutions to problems creatively and effectively. Students can ask questions, seek clarifications, and access model exam questions with immediate feedback and key answers. Additionally, online tests for degree and competitive exams are available.

To ensure security, the tablets provided to students only support the Expert e-Learn app and prohibit the download of other applications. The usage is closely monitored in the Expert server room. To maintain discipline and health, the tablets are deactivated from 11 pm to 5 am, with only the alarm function operational.

The event was attended by Expert Group president Prof Narendra L Nayak and vice-president Dr Usha Prabha Nayak.
