Karkala, Sep 2: A viral video showing a KSRTC bus traveling from Karkala to Udupi with its rear doorstep dragging on the road has prompted a swift response from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

The video, which surfaced on social media, captured the bus on the morning of August 29, with its rear step scraping along the road due to an uneven surface caused by ongoing road construction.

The bus driver and conductor immediately halted the vehicle upon noticing the issue. Passengers were safely transferred to a following bus, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

In response to the video, the CMO's grievance cell acted quickly, informing the relevant departmental authorities to investigate the incident.

Preliminary observations suggest that the damage occurred due to the rough road conditions rather than a mechanical fault.

The senior divisional control officer in Mangaluru has stated that technical staff, supervisors, and unit managers are being instructed to enhance vigilance and take preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future. They are also being advised to provide appropriate guidance to ensure better management of such situations.
