Beltangady, Sep 3: A public road between Madya in Puduvettu village and Hole, which had been encroached by a private individual, was cleared by the gram panchayat under police security on September 2.

In the last village meeting, it was brought to the panchayat's attention that a local person had encroached on the road, blocking public access. This caused difficulties for nearby residents, including issues with transformer repair and access to the water tank. After a meeting with villagers, representatives, and officials inspected the area and decided to clear the road of the encroachment. The operation was carried out on September 2.

To clear the encroachment, a JCB had to move from Madya to Hole. However, a jeep without a wheel was parked in the middle of the path, causing a delay. After some argument, the JCB maneuvered from the edge of the road, cleared the illegal drainage across the road, and the road was made accessible to the public.

SI Kishore from Dharmasthala police station and other personnel provided security during the operation. Gram panchayat president Anita, vice president Poornaksha, former president Yashwant Gowda, and members Bhaskara, Ramendra, Vanita, Indira, Renuka, Appi, along with PDO Ravi Basappanagowda and DCF Ravichandran, were present.
