Panaji, Nov 17 (IANS): Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will inaugurate the 42nd International Film Festival of India to be held here Nov 23-Dec 3.
"Shah Rukh will flag off the 42nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. He would formally inaugurate the 10-day extravaganza on Nov 23 at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium in Margao," festival director Shankar Mohan said in a statement.
The festival aims to be a one-stop-shop for cultural exchanges between Indian filmmakers as well as artists and cinema experts from several countries. More than 100 movies from 65 countries will be screened during the festival.
While the film festival will be inaugurated by Shah Rukh, southern superstar Suriya, known for his movies like "Rakht Charitra", "Perazhagan" and "Vaaranam Aayiram" will bring the curtains down.
The guest list of the festivals include eminent French filmmaker Luc Besson, Hollywood actress Michelle Yeoh, Laurance Kardish, Dan Wolman, Raima Sen, Dino Morea and Prem Chopra.
