Sullia, Sep 5: Moderate rains showered over the taluk on Wednesday, with more intense rainfall occurring during the night. The day saw sunshine accompanied by light rain, but by nightfall, heavy rains and strong winds swept across the region.
A mudslide occurred along the edge of a stormwater drain by the roadside at Gadikallu on the Kalmakaaru-Kollamogru Road due to the continuous rainfall.
If the rains intensify further, there is a serious risk of the road connection being cut off.
