Bantwal, Sep 5: Teachers’ dedication and role in shaping children into good citizens are of utmost importance, said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadyguttu. He was speaking at the district and taluk-level Teachers' Day celebration event held at Bantara Bhavan in Bantwal, organized by the district administration, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Teachers Welfare Fund, Bengaluru, Deputy Director's Office, School Education Department, Bantwal Taluk Teachers' Day Celebration Committee, and the Block Education Officer's Office, Bantwal, in memory of Dr S Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary.
Rajesh Naik emphasized that during school annual day celebrations, it is not appropriate to make young children wait, as parents and villagers come to witness the children's talent. Teachers should conduct the program without making children wait for dignitaries or representatives. He also suggested issuing a circular in this regard. Naik further added that compared to urban students, rural students enjoy more independence. While city students were confined during the COVID-19 pandemic, rural children had the freedom to roam and experience their surroundings. With proper training based on their interests, children can avoid falling into depression, he noted.
