London, Nov 19 (IANS): Pop star Lady Gaga is to be honoured in recognition of her work with lesbians, gays and bisexuals.
Gaga will be honoured by the Trevor Project, a non-profit company that offers suicide-prevention services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
The award will be given to her at the annual Trevor Live event. Google Inc will receive a special Trevor 2020 award, reports contactmusic.com.
"Our young are at the centre of a health crisis, and vocal leaders like Lady Gaga and technology leaders like Google have stepped up to help change our culture," said David McFarland, Trevor Project CEO and executive officer.
"We are proud to honour Lady Gaga with the Trevor Hero Award and Google Inc with the Trevor 2020 award for their work to help young people express their true selves with pride," McFarland added.
The Trevor Live event is slated to take place Dec 4 at the Hollywood Palladiu.
