Mangaluru: Accident during demolition of old house claims two lives

Mangaluru, Sep 11: Two individuals lost their lives in an accident that occurred while demolishing an old house on Jail Road in the city on Thursday, September 12.

The deceased have been identified as house owner James Samuel Jattanna and his neigbour and relative, Edwin Herald Maben.

The accident happened when a concrete beam collapsed on the duo during the demolition of the old house, resulting in their deaths.

The Urva police have registered a case and apprehended a person by name Dhananjay deemed as accused number one in the FIR.

    Really sad to know about such a tragedy, an untimely death. Both of them lost their precious lives, Just cannot imagine the pain their family members are going through.     Very poor Structural engineering study -- and safety issues - considering old building - ---appears very random breaking -- someone experienced would have advised properly on demolition techniques-- -- ---- unfortunately, 2 have lost their lives needlessly -- a great tragedy for their loved ones --
